Biography

Thirteen year old Christina Magrin intends to pursue a career in music and drama and during her relatively short career she has travelled extensively, achieving prestigious feedback in various festivals, plays and other international events and gaining international exposure in both mainland and Eastern Europe.

Christina studies vocal technique under her mother’s guidance, who is also a passionate musician and a lecturer by profession. Her first big break was during her rendition of the Albanian Eurovision Song Contest entry from 2012, Suus, where she caught the attention of millions of TV viewers and reached over 400,000 YouTube viewers in just a few days. The video went viral on Albanian media, capturing the attention of the composer of the song who promised to compose a song and launch it in the Balkans. The promise was kept and the song is the one she will perform at Junior Eurovision.

The young Maltese star has taken part in various national and international competitions, to name a few: Romanian talent show “Next Star”, “Sanremo Junior Malta 2015” and “Una Stella Sta Nascendo 2014”. Last year, Christina took part at the Maltese national selection for Junior Eurovision 2015, which was won by Destiny, finishing 3rd with her cover of “I Surrender”.

Christina’s passion for music was evident from her very early years when she spent hours on end listening to children’s songs and singing along with nursery rhymes. At three years of age she was played the part of ‘Dora the Explorer’ and sang a solo during a University of Malta Theatre Production, Infanta, under the direction of Dr Isabelle Gatt. Her performance immediately triggered many positive comments from various prominent people, amongst which the late Prof. Fr. Peter Serracino Inglott who publicly described her as a ’future star’.

Lyrics:

English

I-I-I-I-I’ll keep chasing rainbows

Searching through the skies for the pot of gold

Remember there’s no limit

No end and no beginning

Living for the moments

And all the happy times that we share

We’ll make it through the storm

Like fire when it’s cold

That’s what friends are for, after all

When times seem to get hard

I’ll never let you down

I’ll be your parachute

Yeah, I’ll take care of you

Until you reach the ground

Till you are safe and sound

I’ll be your parachute

Yeah, I’ll be there for you

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

P-P-P-Parachute

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

We can last forever

But then again, forever’s never enough

Light the sky on fire

We’ll keep on going higher

We’ll be making memories

And we won’t have a minute to spare

We’ll keep moving on

Together we are strong

That’s for friends are for, after all

When times seem to get hard

I’ll never let you down

I’ll be your parachute

Yeah, I’ll take care of you

Until you reach the ground

Till you are safe and sound

I’ll be your parachute

Yeah, I’ll be there for you

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

P-P-P-Parachute

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Let’s jump and dive and fly into the sky

We’ll ignite the night

Like spotlights we will shine

Just like stars, a million lights

Hold tight, oh hold

P-P-P-Parachute

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh parachute
