Biography

Born in fshati i ri, vitia, Kosovo, of Albanian descent, Lindita Halimi’s singing career began in 2003 at the age of 14. Obviously prodigious, her family knew from the start she was gifted beyond measure and destined for the stage. Lindita enrolled in music school in Gjilan, the nearest town to her home, where she studied music theory, vocal coaching and piano. In 2007 after being a finalist in ‘Albanian Idol,’ Lindita joined a band and together they created ‘Ngroba’ Band which translated means, Global Warming.

Throughout her career, Lindita quickly became a highly lauded vocal phenom. This songbird has won numerous awards on the local, national and international platforms collectively. Some of her awards include, ‘The Voice Awards,’ 2004 KOSOVO, ‘Albanian Idols  Ethet e se premtes mbrema’ Top 9 Finalist, 2005 ALBANIA, ‘Top Fest 4,’ Best New Artist, 2007 ALBANIA, ‘Rock per Rock Festival,’ Second Place, 2008 ALBANIA, ‘Top Fest 5’ , Vodafone Club Favourite Band, 2008. In 2009 Lindita took another direction and approached her career as a solo artist. She got invited once again to join ‘Top Fest’ Festival in Albania where she received the most votes and achieved First Place. Her winning streak continued in 2009 as she was awarded ‘Best Rock’ in ‘Kenga Magjike Music Festival’ and also took home the prize at ‘KOSOVO SINGS’ Festival as well.

Focused, ambitious and wildly driven, Lindita knew at an early age that she was destined for the international front. She taught herself English by willfully suspending into American television and film and she adapted the language without formal instruction. This propelled her to speak fluent English which would add on to the other 4 languages she fluently speaks which include German, Spanish, Albanian, and Croatian. In February 2013 she finally made her move to America where she was instantly received at some of the highest musical levels. Not two weeks after her arrival, the singer and established songwriter was discovered by the producers who brought the Motown 50th Anniversary Tribute to fruition.

Currently she is working on her first all-English project while she thrives creatively in the American musical sector carrying the influences of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Patti Labelle, Christina Aguilera, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Etta James, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and of course Beyonce, all of whom can be heard in every note she sings.

English Lyrics

We’re so alike, yet different
At a loss for words, stutterin’
It don’t make sense, what’s happening
I just don’t understand
Aaah Can u hear my painful cry
A battle just to be alive

What’s this fight all for?
What’s the cost of life In this world?
Almost impossible
Is let the love unite us all…

Does anybody care
I’m Weak and i’m afraid
Wondering if I
Will make it thru this day..
For the life of me
I refuse to be
Anything but free
But I’m tired of all the battling…

What’s this fight all for?
What’s the cost of life In this world?
All I ever really waaant
Is let the love unite us all…

Let the love Unite us all
Oooh, Oooh
Let the love unite us all
